Typically associated with toddlers, separation anxiety is suffered when one fears that someone he or she loves will go away.
A child grows into a more independent toddler between eight months to one year of age. At this age, he or she is even more uncertain about being separated from either or both of the parents which he developed it sometimes between 4-7 months of age as a sense of object permanence, which means he or she begins to learn that the things and people exist even they are out of sight. The child’s inability to understand the concept of time and understand if or when you will come back remains the same which developed between 4-7 months of age. Separation anxiety typically develops at this age i.e. between 8 months old to 1 year old and the child may become upset and agitated whenever you try to leave him or her.

- Between the ages of 8 months and 1 year, the age when separation anxiety is first likely to present itself, try not to start day care with an unfamiliar person
